Behind the films...
Script
Charlotte Longépé
Based on Robert W. Service’s poems translated in French by his great-granddaughter, the script is following out scrupulously every line of the original poem in English. Charlotte Longépé who used to be a shy teenager started practicing lecture since the last few years, she rehearses her lines, then comes up with her own way to adapt the poem in an inspiring place of Lancieux, building the story with coherence to create a kind of short funny movie.
No doubt Lancieux is making her imagination flourish.
Production
LANSEEG
Filming a short 10 minutes poem requires at least 2 hours: to rehearse before on the set, to film generally 2/3 times the sequence and to make last minute weather improvements according to where the poem is filmed. A Brittany weather may show off the four seasons of the year in a day.

Coordination

Film editing usually takes 5 hours depending on the special effects needed, choice of music and editing for improving the outcome of sound. The latest videos have been greatly improved thanks to the help of Gaël Pont-Rochet.
All the videos are recorded outdoor with a rather light equipment: camera and a mike, often filmed on early mornings or evenings for smoother lights, avoiding car noises, dogs barking and lawnmower.... but very often there is always a certain something happening.
Setting
Lancieux
The challenge for recording every poem is to find the perfect place at Lancieux that will embody the core of the text and the feelings conveyed although the poem might not have been written for this specific location.
Luckily, the charming Brittany village of Lancieux welcomes such a diversity of panoramas from seaside sunsets to old monuments, vast sandy beaches and some pretty gardens to which every poem can fit, even the wild Yukon ones filmed on the marge of Frémur estuary.
